Apartment kitchens, bathroom vanities, and linen cabinets can
sometimes receive an abnormal amount of wear. Furthermore,
there can be damage as the result of water leaks, excessive cooking
smoke, tenant negligence or simply age.

The construction of apartment cabinetry is often a mix of residential
and commercial materials and procedures. Thermofoil doors and
melamine interiors are quite common, however we can fabricate cabinetry
and accompanying components using whatever materials your project or
customer may require.

At Borden and Erickson we have been doing both residential
and commercial cabinetry for many years, which makes the construction
of apartment kitchens and the like fall right into our normal flow.

A typical installation might consist of frameless style kitchen and bath
cabinets constructed using melamine for the interior and Thermodoil doors.
This can be done using woodgrain melamine for an enhanced interior look,
and woodgrain thermofoil doors in one of many different styles. Both of
these materials offer greater durability than traditionally finished hardwoods
and plywoods, and are easily cleaned with soap and water.

All exposed exterior sides would be covered with matching plastic laminate,
and the drawers could be constructed using either white or woodgrain
melamine. Unless otherwise specified, we would use Blum concealed hinges
and Blum self-closing white epoxy coated metal drawer slides.
